Clean speckles.

Found a few stray teeth of red along a blue seam? Once Find speckles has flagged them, Clean speckles repaints each one to the colour around it.

// What it does

Takes the specks Find speckles flagged — same-colour islands of Max speck size faces or fewer, plus stray single triangles — and repaints each to the most common colour around it. Drawn boundaries are respected. Undo-able.

A Don't cross folds toggle (on by default) keeps a speck from threading through a thin wall, so paint won't bleed onto the back face. Marking an area just limits the scope to that patch — it isn't required for safety any more.

// When to use it
  • A seam between two colours that has tiny stray teeth of the wrong colour.
  • After running a brush at high speed where a few errant triangles took the wrong colour.
  • Straight after Find speckles — it's the commit step for the dots it flagged.
// How to use it
  1. Run Find speckles first. Magenta dots mark each stray triangle — check them.
  2. Check tab → Clean speckles. Each flagged speck takes the colour around it and the dots clear.
  3. Tweak Max speck size: raise it to catch bigger islands; drop to 2 for only single specks. Changing it clears the dots, so re-run Find speckles.
  4. Mark an area first (optional) if you only want to clean one patch.
// Tips
  • Thin walls? Leave Don't cross folds on (it is by default) and paint won't bleed to the back face. Turn it off only when you actually want a speck cleaned across a sharp fold.
  • Max speck size too high wipes out small but intentional details (eye dots, rivet markings). Start at 10 and raise it only if real specks are being missed.
  • Marked an area? Clean speckles acts on whatever's marked, not on what you're looking at. Clear the mark when you're done with it.
