Keyboard shortcuts.

Two minutes. Every shortcut Layerpaint has. Pin this and your speed doubles.

// What it does

A consolidated reference for every keyboard binding. Grouped by purpose so you can find them when you need them.

// When to use it
  • Reference content — scrub for the binding you need.
// How to use it
  1. Tools: P cycles the main paint tools (Magic Fill → Brush → Grow → Mark → Border). I toggles Pick (eyedropper). 19 pick palette slots.
  2. Camera: R reset view. Arrow keys / WASD pan. Shift+arrows for big pan. Middle-drag / Alt+left-drag / Space+left-drag orbit. Right-drag pan. Scroll zoom. Space held suspends painting (orbit mid-stroke).
  3. Brush size: [ / ] shrink/grow. Ctrl+scroll resize.
  4. Boundaries: B toggle yellow boundary visibility. With Border, Shift+drag the round cursor wipes any boundary line inside it. With Mark, Shift+drag unmarks.
  5. Save & history: Ctrl+S save. Ctrl+Shift+S Save As. Ctrl+Z undo. Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z redo. Ctrl+H open history modal.
  6. Dismiss: Escape closes context menu, Brightness popover, History modal, and cancels a Magic Fill in progress.
// Tips
  • Shortcuts ignored inside form fields. If a binding isn't firing, click the viewport first.
  • Space-held during a paint-drag is the trick most people learn the day a stroke goes wrong.
  • Fewer tools now. Border replaced the old Crease tool, and Magic Fill replaced Region and Wand — same keys, a shorter rail.
