Pick — the eyedropper.

Painted with a custom colour two minutes ago and forgot which slot it was? Press I, click the painted face, the right slot lights up — keep painting.

// What it does

Click any painted face; the active palette slot becomes that colour. Auto-exits after a successful pick — you go straight back to whatever tool you were using.

// When to use it
  • Picking up a custom hex colour you can't remember the slot of.
  • Matching a colour from a saved project file you reopened.
  • Sampling from a reference image isn't supported — only from painted faces.
// How to use it
  1. Press I from any other tool. Cursor becomes a crosshair.
  2. Click a painted face. The matching palette slot lights up. Tool reverts to whatever you were using.
  3. Or click the Pick button on the left rail (tooltip says Eyedropper (I)).
// Tips
  • Clicking an unpainted face does nothing. The eyedropper only picks from painted faces.
  • I is a toggle. Press once to turn on, press again to turn off without picking. Look at the tool chip on the rail to confirm state.

Try pick on the demo robot.
