Light / dark + brightness.

Painted a black helmet that disappeared into the dark background? One click flips the theme. Painted a pale model that washes out? Drop the brightness from the floating popover. Both controls live where you need them.

// What it does

Light / Dark button in the top bar flips the viewport background. Top-bar label toggles between Light and Dark.

Brightness popover opens from the sun icon in the top-right corner of the viewport. Slider runs 50–300% (default 210%) and scales every scene light at once.

// When to use it
  • Switch theme any time the model's painted colours blur into the background — dark colours read better on a light background, light colours on dark.
  • Raise brightness if a dark-painted model still looks flat after a theme swap.
  • Drop brightness for a moodier, more photographic look (good for screenshots).
// How to use it
  1. Top bar → Light — viewport flips to a pale background. Click again to flip back.
  2. Sun icon at the top-right of the viewport — opens the Brightness popover.
  3. Drag the slider to taste. ~120% gives a darker, photographic feel; ~250% lifts detail.
// Tips
  • Brightness is not on the Setup tab. It's a floating popover on the viewport itself. The earlier walkthrough used to point at the wrong place.
  • Cranking brightness to 300% isn't usually the answer — try flipping to Light theme first.

Try light / dark + brightness on the demo robot.
